Backstage Rumor on MJF Possibly Taking Time Off From TV Following Title Loss

Former AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is expected to be taking some time off soon, per a new report from Fightful Select. The wrestler is coming off an AEW World Title loss to Kenny Omega last week at AEW Dynamite: Beach Break.

Fightful reports that when asking about MJF’s plans for this month’s AEW Redemption event, it was noted that MJF may actually be off TV for “a period of time.” The report adds that MJF’s potential hiatus was “indicated” and not “confirmed,” and also no time frame was given regarding his time off.

Additionally, the sources Fightful spoke to still expect MJF to be factored in later at AEW All In London at Wembley Stadium next month. However, the specific nature of his involvement at the event is unknown.

As previously reported, the reigning AEW TNT Champion Kevin Knight is rumored to be in consideration for an AEW World Title shot at AEW Redemption on Sunday, July 26. After that, AEW All In London will take place on Sunday, August 30 in London, England.
