Raw was not Jericho. Last night’s first edition of WWE Raw for 2026 came and went without any appearance of Chris Jericho, despite rumors that he might make his official WWE return last night. PWInsider has more details on the Jericho-less edition of Monday Night Raw.
According to PWInsider, Chris Jericho was never scheduled to appear on last night’s WWE Raw, which was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It’s said that Jericho was not even in New York last night, as he’s currently in Los Angeles this week.
Additionally, in his earlier preview of Monday Night Raw, Raw GM Adam Pearce seemingly referenced Jericho, stating, “Who can break down the walls and claim the gold?” Jericho’s old WWE entrance theme is “Break The Walls Down.”
PWInsider reports that Pearce’s line was a “smartly-played reference” meant to play into last night’s WWE and Stranger Things crossover episode, as breaking down the wall was reportedly meant as a reference to the Upside Down dimension. PWInsider says that people read into the reference “beyond what it appeared meant to be.”
Additionally, PWInsider reports that no one in WWE the outlet spoke to expected Jericho to be at last night’s show. So it appears the wait for Jericho’s potential WWE return will continue.
Jericho has had iconic WWE runs, as well as memorable runs in WCW, ECW, and Mexico, which have all made him one of the biggest names in wrestling. He is also the lead signer of heavy-metal band Fozzy.
