Backstage Update on Status of Drew McIntyre

There’s a new update on the status of a former WWE Champion. PWInsider Elite (via F4WOnline.com) reports that Drew McIntyre is now back in the United States after he was out of the country filming a movie called The Last Druid with Oscar winner Russell Crowe.

Additionally, it’s said that there are no active creative discussions regarding McIntyre’s WWE TV return. However, McIntyre is still reportedly working on WWE-related projects like the recently announced WWE micro-dramas in partnership with ReelShort, which will also feature Jacob Fatu and Joe Hendry.

McIntyre was also away working on the Highlander reboot, which also stars Crowe and Henry Cavill. He’s been off WWE TV since WrestleMania 42. It’s still unknown when he will be making his in-ring return.

At WrestleMania 42, Drew McIntyre lost a Street Fight to Jacob Fatu. The Highlander reboot, directed by Chad Stahelski, is due out later on from Amazon MGM Studios. It does not yet have an official release date.
