Backstage Update on Early WWE Survivor Series 2025 WarGames Plans Featuring CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Logan Paul

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has the latest on plans for WWE Survivor Series 2025, scheduled for November 29 at Petco Park in San Diego, with two feature WarGames matches as its headline attractions. According to Dave Meltzer, the men’s WarGames bout initially included CM Punk, Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, and either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight facing the team of Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar, and Austin Theory.

According to Meltzer, if Jacob Fatu is unavailable for the event, LA Knight or Jimmy Uso could step in.  With Seth Rollins sidelined due to injury, Logan Paul has reportedly been discussed as his replacement. Meltzer believed the upcoming shows would clarify the storyline direction for both Brock Lesnar and Austin Theory, whose roles may shift as creative plans evolve. He particularly expects “big angles” during the WWE RAW episode at Madison Square Garden on 11/17.

On the women’s side, initial plans were for AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss to take on Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Becky Lynch, Asuka, and Kairi Sane. However, Ripley’s participation remains uncertain as she recovers from a broken nose. Meltzer noted there has been “no teasing for any of this past Flair & Bliss vs. Asuka & Sane takes place on Raw on 11/10 in Boston.”

Additionally, Survivor Series 2025 may feature an Intercontinental Championship match between Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio. Meltzer recalled that the initial plans had John Cena instead of Rey, with Cena winning the title. However, he claimed that this match could be a segue to a “Cena match in San Diego.”

While Meltzer believes Cena, with four appearances left on his current schedule, may take part in his final premium live event at Survivor Series, he would likely be on the next two episodes of RAW to build up his final match on December 13.
