Beyond Wrestling’s All Killer 09 Review

Match#1: Jaka vs. Johnny Miyagi
I think Miyagi should change his occupation from ‘pro wrestler’ to punching bag. Everytime I see him in Beyond Wrestling, he gets decimated. Basically a squash match. I did enjoy Jaka’s pop up headbutt of sorts. Not sure if he has pulled that out before.

Match#2: Scott Henson vs. Oni
Short match, but some decent back and forth action. Oni has a lot of familiar tattoos, especially if you watch a lot of Beyond Wrestling. Scott Henson shows more and more potential in every match I see him in. Surprised there was no comedy in this match, but I think that made Henson look better here. I’d say he did better with his match against Dunkerton a couple of episodes back, that may be because he had more time.

Match#3: Usurper vs. TJ Marconi
Sadly, I did not enjoy this match. I hate to say that, since I’m a fan of both of these guys. It is just kinda dull the entire time and never picks up. This is usually a problem I see when two ‘big guy’ wrestlers go at it, I just expected more from these two.

Main Event: JT Dunn & Mark Shurman vs. Dave Cole & Brian Fury
Decent tag match for the main event. Match lost a little bit of steam in the middle, but picks up again near the end. Fury and Cole showed some effective tandem offense, so it would be nice to see them team up again. Very odd finish though, that left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

The 411: Not a bad episode of the All Killer, but not anything too special. Best match was the main event by far. I kind of wish Beyond would leave some of the squash matches on the cutting room floor, but I understand this one, since this (and some of the following episodes) are suppose to be a full live event that they taped.
