Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer React to Fans Cheering Randy Orton After Brutally Attacking Cody Rhodes & Matt Cardona

During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray and former Superstar Tommy Dreamer debated the ongoing storyline between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes heading into WrestleMania 42. They specifically took note of how fans were largely cheering and treating Orton like a babyface on WWE SmackDown last week, despite Orton brutally attacking Cody Rhodes and leaving him a bloody mess the week before.

Bully Ray said of the angle and people cheering Orton (via WrestlingInc.com), “Those people popped and cheered and were lively and energetic for every last thing that Randy Orton said about Cody Rhodes, and oh, by the way, Randy Orton is the guy that left Cody Rhodes a bloody mess two weeks ago.”

Orton delivered another brutal attack on SmackDown last week. This time, it was Rhodes’ longtime friend, Matt Cardona. Fans once again overwhelmingly cheered Orton’s actions during the segment.

Meanwhile, Dreamer commented on the babyface reaction Orton received despite his behavior, “When he attacks him, heel. The follow-up, pure babyface. He said, ‘I’m a killer,’ and the people cheered. They’re like, ‘Yay for the killer! Go kill my babyface.'” Dreamer added on the angle’s execution, “It’s just wonky to me. It really and truly is.”

Despite fans cheering Randy Orton on, Cody Rhodes will get a chance at payback come WrestleMania 42. The premium live event takes place at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada on April 18-19. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
