Chris Nowinski took a moment to praise TNA referee Alice Lane for quickly stopping the main event of TNA Sacrifice after Steve Maclin was briefly knocked out. As previously noted, the World Championship match between Maclin and World Champion Mike Santana was cut short early on when Maclin was knocked loopy coming off the ropes into a superkick by Santana. Lane quickly stopped the bout and Maclin was taken to the back to be checked out.

Nowinski, the former WWE star and CEO of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, posted to Twitter on Saturday to offer praise to Lane for quickly stopping the bout for Maclin’s sake. He wrote:

“Shout out to @ThisIsTNA referee Alice Lane for recognizing Steve Maclin had a #concussion and stopping his main event match against Mike Santana at #TNASacrifice. Saved them both from a potential catastrophic injury had they continued. Watch:”

TNA President Carlos Silva has confirmed that fortunately, Maclin did not suffer a concussion. TNA issued public gratitude to Lane as well as Eddie Edwards, who came out to attack Mike Santana in order to give the fans a closing moment as Maclin was being taken to the back.

Maclin also posted to Twitter on Saturday to thank fans for their support and noted, “You can’t F**king kill me. I’M BULLETPROOF.”
