CM Punk Honors Chad Gilbert Via Special Gesture at WWE Money in the Bank 2026

CM Punk honored his late friend Chad Gilbert with a special gesture at WWE Money in the Bank.

Punk participated in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match at tonight’s PLE. For his entrance, the Chicago native wore a top that featured “Chadball” on the front.

“Chadball” refers to Punk’s longtime friend and New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert, who sadly passed away on September 20 due to stage 4 adrenocortical carcinoma-related complications. “Chadball” is a reference to Hardcore band Madball, which had a major influence on Chad.

Coming back to Money in the Bank, Punk failed in his pursuit to become a record-breaking three-time MITB winner. He brawled with Kevin Owens throughout the match and was ultimately taken out of the proceedings via a vicious Spear from Bron Breakker. Penta ultimately won the match when he wiped out Breakker with a Mexican Destroyer on a ladder and subsequently retrieved the briefcase.

A man that knows this match VERY well! 🙌@CMPunk pic.twitter.com/zZAFISzyJx
