WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes and NXT Champion Oba Femi were poised to have a competitivie Champion versus Champion bout at tonight’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, it was not meant to be.

There was no conclusive winner to the title bout, as Cody Rhdoes’ bitter rival, Drew McIntyre, interfered during the match, causing it to be thrown out. McIntyre immediately attacked a prone Cody. However, Femi was not happy that McIntyre interfered in his match.

Femi and Cody then ganged up on McIntyre. Cody hit his rival with the Cody Cutter, followed by Oba Femi hitting McIntyre with a Chokeslam. How’s that for an unsafe work environment? Unfortunately, the match ended in a no contest due to McIntyre’s interference.

Regardless, Cody and Femi showed each other mutual respect, raising one another’s hands after the match. Cody Rhodes was recognized as the present, but Oba Femi is surely the future of this business. Perhaps, the two champions will be able to revisit this matchup some other day. It remains to be seen how Rhodes and McIntyre will resolve their currently ongoing feud.
