Lashley & Mickie James vs. Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox: Mahal and Lashley to start us off. They lock up; Lashley takes early control, working the arm of Mahal. Lashley then hits leapfrogs and almost falls on his face. Mahal now poses, and challenges Lashley to a pushup contest. Lashley smoke shim so Mahal does pushups with Fox on his back, so Mickie climbs on Lashley’s back and smokes him again. Lashley now hits a neck breaker and powerslam for 2 as Fox makes the save. Lashley laughs her off and then tag in Mickie who flies in with a Thesz press for 2. Mickie gets a cradle for 2. Fox cuts her off with slaps and a back breaker for 2. Fox grounds the action as Balor & Bayley are in the comment section; they face Mahal & Fox next week. Fox hits the northern lights for 2. Mahal in, Mickie slaps him, but Fox hits the big boot for 2. Fox refuses to shanti and Mickie runs her into Mahal. Lashley and Mahal tag in and Lashley runs wild with slams and clotheslines. Mickie takes out Fox, but Mahal hits Lashley with a jumping knee strike. Rush takes out Singh, Mahal tries to attack but Rush is too fast. Back in and Lashley hits the delayed suplex and that gets the win. Lashley & Mickie James defeated Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox @ 7:45 via pin [**] This wasn’t bad, just ok. It lacked the fun and overall quality of last week’s matches.

NEXT WEEK: Bayley & Finn Balor vs. Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox

– Fox argues with Mahal and says it’s either her or Singh. Mahal calms things and tells Fox to practice her breathing. She says they will do things her way next week and Singh isn’t invited.

R-Truth & Carmella vs. Asuka & Miz: Miz & Asuka won season one of MMC. The crowd loves Truth. Asuka & Carmella start us off. Nope, Miz tags himself in and Truth hits arm drags and dances. Miz begs off, but Truth hits a hip toss and we get a dance break for he and Carmella. Asuka joins in and Miz is pissed. Miz then claims to have the best moonwalk in the history of moonwalks. Well he’s wrong. Truth kicks him to the floor and Asuka attacks Carmella, but Carmella dumps her. Carmella & Truth tease dives and then do dueling splits and celebrate. Asuka yells at Miz, they argue, and Truth chases Miz, but back in and Miz cuts him off. Miz follows with a running kick, and grounds the action. He then hits the corner clothesline but Truth cuts him off. The ladies tag in and Asuka runs wild with kicks and dropkicks. The knee strike, spinning back fist, and ass attack all connect for 2. Carmella sidesteps the missile dropkick. Miz saves Asuka from the broncobuster and Asuka hits a shining wizard for 2. Carmella fights off the Asuka lock, and hits a slap and superkick as Miz makes the save. Truth attacks and light up Miz, Miz dumps him and Carmella runs Asuka into Miz and cradles her for 2. Asuka then gets the Asuka lock and Carmella taps. Miz & Asuka defeated R-Truth & Carmella @ 10:15 via submission [***] This was a good and fun match. The Miz/Asuka dynamic still works very well and I have to say, I continue to love the Truth & Carmella pairing. I never saw it coming and hope it sticks around for a while.

NEXT WEEK: Rusev & Lana vs. Jimmy Uso & Naomi

– End Scene.

– Thanks for reading.

While not as good as last week, week two of the WWE Mixed Match Challenge was a solid show. Last week’s matches were better, more fun, and simply came off better in my opinion.
