Former WWE developmental talent Daniel Rodimer has filed a motion to charges of murder against him in Las Vegas, Nevada dismissed. As you may recall, Rodimer was arrested back in March of 2024 on charges of murder. 47-year-old Christopher Tapp died after an incident with Rodimer at a Las Vegas hotel. Rodimer reportedly attacked Tapp after he allegedly offered Rodimer’s stepdaughter cocaine.

According to FOX 5 in Las Vegas, Rodimer’s attorneys are seeking to have the murder charge dismissed. The former Tough Enough competitor’s lawyers filed a motion arguing that according to the Clark County coroner’s findings, Tapp’s injuries were not suspicious and were the result of drug and alcohol use. The motion also claims that by intercepting Rodimer’s text messages with his attorney and wife, police violated attorney-client privilege and spousal privilege.

Tapp’s death was originally believed to be a result of a fall and “apparent overdose.” However, his autopsy showed blunt force trauma to the head and recent cocaine use. As noted, Tapp died after what was said to be a fight between the two in Tapp’s hotel room. Rodimer is charged with killing Tapp by striking him “on the head, the said killing having been willful, deliberate and premeditated.”

In addition to his time with WWE, which lasted until 2007, Rodimer was also in the public eye for his attempts to run for public office. He ran in the special election for Texas’s 6th congressional district but placed 11th in the primary. He also ran for a House seat in Nevada’s 3rd congressional district in 2020 but lost in the general election to incumbent Democrat Susie Lee.
