A hearing date has been set regarding WWE Superstar Ludwig Kaiser’s motion to dismiss the misdemeanor battery case against him. As noted previously, an arrest warrant was issued against Ludwig Kaiser, real name Marcel Barthel, in mid-May, after an individual named Richard Reap alleged that the pro wrestler assaulted him after he objected to Kaiser and his female companion making out “aggressively” inside the 12th-floor elevator of a residential complex on April 23.
Ludwig Kaiser subsequently surrendered and was ultimately released on a $1,000 bond. On July 15, Ludwig filed a motion seeking dismissal of the case, arguing he’s immune from prosecution under the “Stand Your Ground” law in Florida.
According to his version of the story, the individual in question called Kaiser’s female companion a “bi*ch” and threatened to call ICE on her after he was offended by the couple hugging inside the elevator.
Court records [via Wrestling Observer] show that a hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 19, when Ludwig Kaiser’s legal team is set to bring forward the motion to dismiss battery charges against the WWE and AAA Superstar. The defense filed the motion on Tuesday, July 28, informing the Assistant Attorney Shaylynee Kotch of the hearing date.
That said, both parties may potentially reach a plea agreement when they meet during their second pre-trial conference on August 27.
