Drew McIntyre Attacks Cody Rhodes In WWE Smackdown Opening Segment

Drew McIntyre got the jump on Cody Rhodes, attacking the WWE Undisputed Champion backstage in the opening segment of WWE Smackdown. The opening segment of Friday’s show saw The Vision and Logan Paul kick things off in the ring. Heyman cut a promo talking about how their WarGames team will destroy Rhodes, The Usos, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk.

The Usos then came out to interrupt the promo. Heyman pointed out that it was a four-on-two situation and said they weren’t alone. Rhodes’ music hit, but he didn’t come out. We then cut to the back where McIntyre walked out of Rhodes bus. Rhodes was inside, busted open.

The Usos ran to the back as someone called for a medic. McIntyre drove off, and it was pointed out that he didn’t enter the arena so he didn’t violate his suspension. You can see a clip from the WWE Smackdown segment below.

The two teams — which also includes Brock Lesnar on the heel side — will collide at WarGames next weekend at PetCo Park in San Diego. The show will air live on the ESPN App and Netflix internationally. 411 will have live coverage of the show.
