Note On How Long Jake Doyle May Be Out Following Injury

Jake Doyle is out of action due to an injury suffered on AEW Dynamite, and a new report has some context on how long he may be out of action. As reported, Doyle suffered a torn bicep during his match on this week’s Dynamite. FTR retained the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Mark Davis and Doyle on the show, and during the match Cash Wheeler went to DDT Doyle onto the ring apron. Doyle called out that he tore his bicep after the move.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is the possibility that Doyle might not need surgery. A torn bicep recovery without surgery results in a likely four-month time away from the ring; however, it results in an indent in the arm. The better cosmetic option is surgery, but it results in around seven months out.
It’s not clear whether Doyle is set to undergo surgery or not. Doyle posted to social media on Thursday to note that he was “DOWN BUT NEVER OUT MOTHER F**KER!!”
AEW has yet to officially confirm the injury. Doyle, the former Jake Something, made his debut for AEW earlier this month on the January 7th episode of Dynamite. He came in as a new member of the Don Callis Family.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Doyle for a quick and full recovery.
