Hulk Hogan is set license his name to a new bar outside of Madison Square Garden. According to the New York Post, the WWE Hall of Famer is set to open a $7 million bar opposite the famed venue titled Slam.
The location will be at 461 8th Avenue, directly across from MSG. Rich Rosen reportedly owns the location and is licensing Hogan’s name and likeness for the bar, which will be three floors and feature Hogan memorabilia as well as screens playing his greatest moments. Hogan’s Real American Beer will be a “regular fixture” at the bar, which is being built to look like the inside of the Garden including a JumboTron. The plan is to open the bar in the fall.
Hogan does not have a direct ownership stake in the bar. Rosen told the outlet that he pitched the notion to Hogan at an autograph signing, saying, “I basically waited 5 hours on line to get two seconds with Hulk Hogan. I came with an 8″ by 11″ glossy picture of Madison Square Garden, and in the picture is our [storefront]… I walked up to Hulk, I dropped the picture in front of him… [and said] That’s my [storefront,] that’s the Garden, and you’re my new partner.” Hogan called him four days later to make the deal.
