WWE announced today that Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant from 1987’s WrestleMania 3 is receiving the WWE Immortal Moment Award at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026 induction ceremony. You can check out the announcement video below.

The announcement reads, “The slam heard around the world. The ICONIC showdown between Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant at #WrestleMania 3 will be honored with the WWE Immortal Moment Award at the 2026 #WWEHOF Ceremony!”

WWE began inducting matches into its Hall of Fame last year with the introduction of the Immortal Moment Award. The first recipient was Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin from WrestleMania 13 in 1997. Now, the iconic match between the two late Hall of Famers, Hogan and Andre, gets the same recognition.

The WWE Championship match saw Hogan defending his belt against Andre the Giant, and it featured Hogan famously bodyslamming his opponent. Andre the Giant passed away in January 1993 at 46 years old. He was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame later that same year. This is Andre’s second overall WWE Hall of Fame induction.

This marks Hulk Hogan’s third WWE Hall of Fame induction. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice before, once individually, as part of the class of 2005. He was inducted once more in 2020 as part of the New World Order (nWo) stable. Hulk Hogan passed away in July of last year after suffering a heart attack.
