Injury Update on Steven Borden Following AEW All Out 2026

As previously reported, AEW wrestler Steven Borden suffered an injury last weekend at AEW All Out 2026. During his match, he suffered a bad hit while he and his opponent Kevin Knight were both attempting coast-to-coast dives off the top rope. The two collided in mid-air, and Borden suffered a hard landing.

The referee and medical staff stopped the match following the collision, and the match was awarded to The Don Callis Family’s Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher. Borden was taken to the hospital following his injury.

During the post-show media scrum following the pay-per-view event, AEW President Tony Khan announced that Borden was “awake and responsive” at the hospital, and his test results sounded positive. On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Borden, who is also the son of WWE Hall of Famer and former AEW wrestler Sting.

When asked by Bryan Alvarez about Borden and UFC’s Raoni Barcelos, Meltzer stated, “They’re both okay. Steven Borden, I didn’t hear if he flew home, but I was told that he was going to be able to fly home.”

The spot drew heavy criticism across social media, and it was compared to a similar move attempted by Ricochet and Logan Paul. Ricochet later said no one was at fault for the accident, writing on social media, “People have been hurt in wrestling doing high risk and low risk moves. It unfortunately is an aspect we face every time we step into the ring. No one is at fault here. It’s just an unfortunate situation. So let’s just hope that Steven continues to get better.”
