IWGP Junior Tag Title Match Added To NJPW Road To Destruction Show

El Desperado & Mistico will put the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships on the line at tomorrow’s NJPW Road to Destruction show. NJPW announced in their preview for Wednesday’s event that the champions will defend their titles against DOUKI and SHO of HOUSE OF TORTURE.
The preview for the match reads:
“Special tag team action sees IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions El Desperado and Mistico facing HOUSE OF TORTURE’s SHO and DOUKI. With SHO and DOUKI undefeated as a duo throughout last year, they held the IWGP Junior tag belts hostage until New Year Dash, when Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita scooped the gold. Even then, argued the former champs, they weren’t involved in a three way match decision, giving them the right to a rematch at a time of their choosing.
The H.O.T duo wanted that time to be here in Sapporo, but El Desperado had other ideas. Knowing DOUKI and SHO’s flagrant disregard for the rules and disrespect for just about everything and everyone that isn’t their own faction, Desperado flatly refused a title shot until he and Mistico could be convinced. That convincing came just yesterday on the tour in Yotsuba Arena, when SHO and DOUKI stole the masks off the champions’ heads, and Dick Togo proceeded to do his best ‘Dicktico’ impression for a shot to Despe’s nether regions.
That was pressure enough for Desperado and Mistico to put the titles on the line this afternoon, as Desperado promised the H.O.T duo wouldn’t walk out of Sapporo with the titles, the masks, or even at all. Have DOUKI and SHO awakened a pair of dangerous beasts?”
