Jamie Hayter Discusses Facing Thekla at AEW Dynasty, Plans on Taking the Title to ‘Greener Pastures’

Undisputed’s Justin Barrasso spoke to Jamie Hayter ahead of today’s AEW Dynasty event, where she challenges Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Title. Hayter revealed how she plans to deal with Thekla’s dirty tactics and more. Below are some highlights:

Jamie Hayter on Her Game Plan for Thekla

“Hit hard. That’s what I like to do. … This match against Thekla is going to be different because of the brutality. When people see that, that’s what will make it stick out.”

On Challenging Kris Statlander for the Title at Worlds End

“Statlander is a fantastic wrestler and she certainly does hit hard. That’s what I like. I don’t do anything particularly fancy in the ring. I have a view of wrestling where we hit each other. I’m not technical enough for anything more than that. To me, that’s it. You hit someone hard enough and they’re going to go down. Stat gave that right back to me at Worlds End, which was a lot of fun. I felt like myself in that match, and it’s carried on into 2026.”

Her Thoughts on Thekla

“There’s a world title on the line, so I know what’s at stake. Thekla’s a sneaky little spider. She has some tricks up her sleeve. She plays a bit dirty, she’s got the brass knucks, so I’m not going to hold back. By the end, she’ll know who I am–then I’ll take that title to greener pastures.”
