When JBL isn’t podcasting, he’s clotheslining people at independent wrestling shows. This past Saturday night saw JBL appearing at MCW’s Autumn Aggression event in Dundalk, Maryland. JBL was there to do meet & greets, but couldn’t turn down the opportunity to attack a former NXT Superstar.
Patrick Clark, formerly known as Velveteen Dream during his time on NXT, was taking part in a Hollywood Street Fight when JBL decided to make his presence known.

JBL had the following reaction to his weekend activities on X:
Arrive.

Leave. https://t.co/3GObgylMAM— John Layfield (@JCLayfield) November 2, 2025
Clark was let go by WWE in May 2021 after allegations of grooming. He was arrested on multiple occasions in 2021 & 2022 for various issues. Clark returned to MCW, where he originally trained to be a wrestler, back in August 2024. He’s worked regularly for the promotion ever since. Other promotions have been reticent to book him. but WWE figures like Booker T & Mark Henry have stated that Clark deserves a second chance. There has been no indication that WWE is willing to give Clark a second chance.
