Jeff Jarrett Reveals Why His AEW Retirement Run Never Materialized

AEW veteran Jeff Jarrett recently spilled beans on his retirement run in All Elite Wrestling that never materialized.
As fans must be aware, Jarrett announced in January 2025 that he had signed his final talent contract with the Tony Khan-led company. The veteran further expressed his desire to capture the AEW World Championship. He subsequently participated in an AEW World Title No. 1 Contender’s Casino Gauntlet Match on the January 8, 2025, episode of Dynamite, but the veteran failed to emerge victorious.
He then got embroiled in a deeply personal promo exchange with MJF. A few weeks later, Jeff Jarrett lost a singles match to Claudio Castagnoli and has not performed on AEW television since then.
During a recent Q&A session on Reddit, a fan asked Jeff Jarrett about what happened to his retirement run. In response, he said that plans ultimately changed.
“There’s one thing in the wrestling business that’s always consistent: ‘CARD SUBJECT TO CHANGE…’ Creative plans will always change in this industry.”
Earlier this year, Fightful Select reported about Jeff’s current role in All Elite Wrestling. You can check that out HERE.
