Je’Von Evans Was Nervous About Facing Rey Mysterio In First WrestleMania Match

Je’Von Evans says facing Rey Mysterio in the Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania 42 got the butterflies going in his stomach. Evans was part of the six-person ladder match at WrestleMania 42, which saw Penta defend the title against Evans, Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Rusev, and Dragon Lee.
Evans reflected on the experience in his appearance on A Shot of Brandi. he noted that having his WrestleMania debut against a legend like Mysterio was nerve-wracking for him, but that he’s excited that’s part of his history now. You can see the highlights below:

“It’s cool until you start having legends like Rey Mysterio in the match. You know what I mean? Now I’m kind of nervous. Now I got the butterflies in my stomach. Ray has so much years of experience, like Ray’s been wrestling since… the beginning.”

“I think I’m just so excited that I’m able to say that my first WrestleMania match was at the age of 21 and like, Rey Mysterio was in it, for a title. You know what I mean? It’s crazy. Honestly, I’m just blessed and happy that I’m able to tell that story.”
