Joe Hendry Reportedly Discussed For WWE Smackdown Call-Up

Joe Hendry could be making a move to WWE Smackdown soon, with a new report stating there have been discussions about the matter. Hendry officially signed with WWE in mid-November, with reports at the time stating that he was on a main roster deal. Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that there have been discussions in WWE about Hendry getting called up to the Smackdown brand.

WWE Smackdown is moving to three hours again in January, and the report notes that “preparations” have been made to get more talent on the brand as a result. It was also noted that USA Network has been keen on having Hendry on the brand.

Even before he exited TNA and signed with WWE, Hendry has been a significant part of WWE programming. He has made Royal Rumble and WrestleMania appearances this year, facing Randy Orton at the latter show. He has been a fixture on NXT TV as well, and appeared on Saturday Night’s Main Event earlier this month.

Hendry is set to battle The Miz on tonight’s episode of Smackdown.
