NXT Universe! It’s time for more NXT from the Mother Base in PC, and that means a new episode of the Tuesday Night Delight!

Tonight’s show will begin the path towards February 3rd, where we will crown a new NXT Men’s World Champion in a ladder match. Shiloh Hill and Josh Briggs will face off with a spot in the title match on the line, while Sean Legacy will face Eli Knight (no, not Eli Drake OR LA Knight) in another ladder match qualifier tonight.

Tonight is also the night for debuts, for not only are we getting the debut of the French Luchador Elio LeFleur in NXT, but he’s getting a shot at Ethan Page and his North American Title no less.

And they haven’t forgotten about the women of NXT, as we will see a three-corner tag team encounter. In one corner will be the team of Zaruca (Sol Ruca and Zaria), in another corner will be the team of WrenQCC (Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair) and in the third corner will be Fatal Influence (I’m assuming it will be Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid).

So, how is everyone doing tonight? Nothing makes you forget a six-game losing streak like going on the road to the Pacific Division leaders and winning a boring defensive minded game, but that’s just what the Flyers did last night. To be honest, if they come back home from a Vegas-Utah-Colorado trip with a winning record I will be beside myself. I feel nothing but pain thanks to the other three teams, though.

So, enough about me and enough about you, it’s time for make this all about the three simple letters of N-X-T!

Tonight, NXT is LIVE from the Mother Base AKA The Performance Center! Vic Joseph and Booker T will be on the call tonight, with the former trying his best to keep the latter from getting too far out of pocket!

Vic welcomes us at the top of the broadcast, calling Orlando the “Beautiful City”. He kicks it to Ava and her announcement last week, announcing that the vacated NXT Men’s World Title will be contested for on February 3rd in a ladder match. We see the arrival of Keanu Carver, who comes out and kills damn near everybody. This kicks over to comments from the men who will be in qualifying matches. So, comments from Josh Briggs, Shiloh Hill, Sean Legacy, and Eli Knight it is!

That takes us to the here and the now. Ava tells NXT Security in her office to look out for Tony D’Angelo, since he isn’t the man that she once knew, and he has no family and friends left in NXT.

THE GREATEST NORTH AMERICAN OF ALL TIME IS HERE, YO!

NXT Men’s North American Title Match: Ethan Page (C) vs. Elio LeFleur

Mike Rome with the special in-ring introductions for this match.

Early lock-up, Elio sends Page off, but Ethan with a shoulder tackle and he pats Elio on the head LOL! We run back the previous sequence again, except this time Elio kips up. That enrages Page, who falls into a drop toe hold and Elio pats Ethan on the head LOL!

The pace picks up, as Elio with an enziguri, sending Page to the corner. Ethan gets dumped out of the ring, as Elio heads outside and hits a Rana from the apron! Elio returns Page to the ring, but his springboard attack is cut off by Page.

Ethan drops Elio on the top turnbuckle with a backbreaker, sending Elio to the apron. Page with a big boot to Elio, which sends him the rest of the way down to the floor as we head out for break.

Page works over the back and applies a dreaded chinlock during the break. Booker also uses this time during the “downtime” to show off how much French he knows. We’re back from break proper, as Page has continued the assault on the back of LeFleur. Page gets a two count and then proceeds to yell and scream at everyone. We see Fatal Influence getting ready in the back by getting their makeup done.

Page looking for the Ego’s Edge, but LeFleur is able to reverse it with a back body drop. He strings offense together and scores a two off the Twist and Shout. Elio to the top, but he misses, and Page is waiting with a big boot. The cover for a two.

Page taunts Elio and stomps on his foot, telling him to stay down. He is caught, however, by LeFleur, who buys some space. Page cuts that off, but he ends up getting sent from the ring. LeFleur to the top and he hits a moonsault! He returns Page to the ring; he goes up top again and hits the Coast-to-Coast Dropkick! The cover, 2.5!

Elio to the top again, but he meets the knees of Page! Page looking for the Ego’s Edge again, but Elio slips out the back door. Elio charges Page in the corner, but Ethan catches him and hits a powerbomb. He grabs the tights as he rolls up LeFleur, and he steals it!
WINNER: Ethan Page (Still Champion)
TIME: 10:15
THOUGHTS: While I’m not surprised that Elio lost his debut match, I am a bit intrigued by the fact that he got beat up pretty much all match. Page with the win should qualm talks of him moving to the main roster, at least for a minute.
RATING: ***1/2

Ricky Saints comes out from the back as Page heads up the ramp. He says they are the glue holding this place together. Page says the last time he saw Ricky he knocked some sense into him. Ricky says to head to the back and celebrate, because I’m coming down here to watch the qualifying matches. He poses on the ring steps as we head out for the break.

COMMERCIALS!

We get a replay from last week, where Keanu Carver came out and killed the entire NXT roster. Vic welcomes Ricky Saints to the announce table and he does his pose. He asks Booker about Carver, and Booker looks away. We see why, as Booker and Carver apparently got into it during season one of LFG. We see someone cutting a promo, but it’s interrupted by Carver in the background, saying that he is doing no BLEEPING sit-down interview.

NXT Men’s World Title Ladder Match Qualifier: Shiloh Hill vs. Josh Briggs

You know, if Carver wants to come out and beat up some more people, I would be okay with it. I’m just saying.

The bell rings, as Briggs backs Hill into the corner. Hill reverses Briggs and sends him off, but Briggs back with a straight punch to the face. Briggs with a shot to the lower back, he shoves Hill into the corner and pounds on him for a bit. Hill reverses Briggs’ whip and he hits a neck breaker. Hill lands a basement clothesline for a two.

Hill situates Briggs on the apron so he can hit a drive by knee on the floor. Back in the ring, and Briggs hits a slam on Hill and a standing splash for a two. BRIGGS YOU SUCK chants, which apparently throw Josh off of his game, as Hill takes Briggs to the floor. Josh sends Shiloh around the ring post, he looks around, and Hill comes back with a blockbuster from the steps. Briggs retaliates with a lariat on the floor as we hit the break.

Booker and Ricky get on well during the commercial break. Ricky says he is amazed by Booker’s allegiance to losers after Booker says Trick Williams will win the #1 contenders match this Saturday Night. To be fair, these announcers are more interesting than the guys in the match.

We’re back from the break proper, as Briggs has a chin lock applied to Hill. Shiloh to his feet, but Briggs shuts that down with a throw to the corner. Hill back with a double leg takedown, but Briggs with a running double arm tackle for a two. Briggs yells at Hill about not liking raccoons, and Hill starts to get an insane look on his face.

Hill fires back with punches and a shoulder tackle. Briggs deposits Hill on the apron, but here comes Hill up the ladder with a top rope clothesline. Hill trips up Briggs and hits the front flip standing senton for a two. Both men collide in the ring not once but twice and it sure was nice. Briggs with a big boot to Hill followed by the Chokeslam. The cover, but Hill kicks out at 2.5.

Briggs heads to the top, but Hill sweeps out the legs. Double underhook suplex from Hill nets him a two. Hill runs into a big boot from Briggs, but his moonsault finds the canvas. Hill catches Briggs with the pop-up neck breaker for the win.
WINNER: Shiloh Hill
TIME: 10:40
THOUGHTS: I mean, I like the character of Hill, I think he has something going there. But his offense is painfully boring, and to compound the situation, he was in there with the charisma vacuum known as Josh Briggs. The right man won, and so life moves on.
RATING: **3/4

Post-match, Tony D’Angelo is here! He beats up both Briggs and Hill without prejudice. He stares into the camera, leaves the ring, stares at Ricky (who hides behind Vic and Booker) and he walks off.

Zaria and Sol Ruca are in the back. Zaria wants to know where her best friend was during her title match at Genesis. Ruca said she wanted to make it a fair fight. Zaria says she is still sore and banged up, so if they lose tonight, don’t blame her.

Swipe Right vs. Chase U

Dang, this referee is hella nice. I’m just saying.

Early lock-up between Ricky Smokes and Uriah Connors. They trade counters and hold before Connors takes in Kale Dixon. Smokes to his corner and he tags in Brett Baylor. Standing moonsault from Dixon, and Chase U send Vanity Project from the ring and to the floor. Both men take to the air and hit topes on the floor. They return Vanity Project to the ring, but Connors is taken off the apron and to the floor. We see Lexis King watching in the back, Stacks and Ariana are here. The guys shake hands and they walk off. Okay then.

Vanity Project are in complete control now. They hit double team offense, but Connors kicks out at two. Uriah is able to roll away and tag in Dixon. Kale takes care of Brett and Ricky with ease. Dixon goes to fly, gets stuck on the top rope, but he still sticks the landing. Andre Chase applauds him as he goes to the top rope and he hits a swivel splash for a two.

Double team kick into a stunner from Chase U gets them a two on Smokes. Ricky finally tags in Baylor, as he sends Connors from the ring. Dixon ends up in the wrong part of time. Smokes with the stomp assist from the top rope to win it for his team!
WINNERS: The Vanity Project
TIME: 5:35
THOUGHTS: Chase U got in enough offense that I can’t really call is a squash match. However, Vanity Project were being pushed as new members of the NXT roster. A good match.
RATING: ***

Ava is on her cell phone in the back. She tells Mr. Stone that the cops are on their way to arrest Tony D’Angelo. Stone says it is about time. Lola Vice is here, and she says that she has already beaten Izzi Dame, so she wants a title shot. Thea Hail frantically runs in and says the open challenge was a big mistake. Ava says she will make it a triple threat match. Lola says that makes two women that she can knock out now.

Jaida Parker is walking in the back, and we will hear from her next!

Vic says that, after telling everyone he wasn’t going to do a sit-down, Keanu Carver ends up sitting down with Blake Howard. Well, not really, as he says he isn’t going to answer any of his dumbass questions. He shoves Blake away and cusses him out. I like this guy, like a lot.

Ms. Parker is here! She thanks the fans, and she appreciates us. She is so happy to be back it’s not even funny. And yes, a few things have changed around here, but baby, one thing that hasn’t changed is ME! She’s heard a lot about his new Era in NXT. Kendal Grey deserves her flowers. Blake Monroe acts like she has the spotlight on her, no flowers. She watched Latina Heat dominant, and she deserves her flowers. Standards don’t get questioned, standards don’t get rushed, standards don’t get pressed, because standards are what she stands on.

Everyone has their opinions about Jaida Parker. Jaida, you aren’t good enough. Jaida, you’re not worthy of being here. Jaida, smile more and talk less. She can’t catch a break, and she always has someone in her ear. She caught your eye, and she caught their ear. Every time she walks into a room, it gets claustrophobic and gets harder to breath. But she sits up a little bit straighter, and she carries herself higher because she knows how good she is.

The lights go out, and Blake Monroe wants the spotlight where it should be. On her, of course. She wants the lights back on now. She says Parker made a big mistake interrupting her last week, but she understands. Who better to interrupt than the Glamour?

Parker wants to know if she is done talking. Jaida says you are the one who will learn why they call her Ms. Parker.

Ava is in the back with Myles Borne. Elio LeFleur walks in and shakes Ava’s hand and thanks her for the chance tonight. Ava says you’re welcome, and there will be a lot more changes for the French Luchador. Ricky Saints and Ethan Page walk past and Ricky questions which version of Borne we will see. He loved the version of him that had gumption with Stone, but will we see the Borne who is spineless and a follower? Saints says the commentary team needs him, and so off he goes to chat it up with Booker again.

We get a preview for Season Two of Unreal after the break. I got to be honest, I liked the Iyo Sky bit, the Penta bit, but the rest. Eh.

This next match here could be awesome!

NXT Men’s World Title Ladder Match Qualifier: Sean Legacy vs. Eli Drake L.A. Knight

The bell rings and we get early rib tosses from both guys. We switch to a game of leg sweeps. This is followed by a series of missed punches, and both guys catch each other’s foot, and they both slowly put their feet back down lol. We see Fatal Influence looking Hella fine in the back.

Both men miss dropkicks, but Legacy breaks the long running stalemate as he dropkicks Knight out of the ring. Legacy takes off and hits a Tope to Knight on the floor. Legacy with the springboard action into a crossbody for a two.

Legacy slows the action down with some chops in the corner. Knight escapes to the apron and leaps back into the ring. He leaps over Legacy, slides under Legacy, and he dropkicks Legacy out of the ring. Knight goes to fly, Legacy moves, he tries to sweep out the legs of Knight, but Eli jumps from the ropes and takes him out with a moonsault. That’ll take us to the break.

Both men try to show the other one up during the break. Booker and Ricky wax poetic about finding these guys and helping them along to get to this point. We get a spot where both men struggle to suplex the other.

We’re back from the break proper, as both guys trade hands getting up off the mat. They continue to trade while they are on their feet. Legacy cuts off Knight’s attack and looks for a powerbomb, but Knight escapes only to run into a clothesline. Both men trade roll-ups now as we see NQCC in the back. Legacy catches Knight with a thrust kick. Legacy with a Springboard 450 Splash, but it only gets a two.

Legacy has Knight up in a torture rack position, but Knight escapes and lands some strikes. Overhead Belly-to-Belly suplex into the corner by Knight. Eli to the top, he comes down as Legacy moves, so Knight continues on and hits a standing moonsault instead. That gets him a two.

THIS IS AWESOME chants, as Knight rolls up Legacy for a two. Sean sits down on Knight and gets a two. Knight with a standing Sliced Bread. Knight to the top, but his moonsault eats the knees of Legacy. Sean picks up Eli and hits a variation of the Angle Slam from the Torture Rack for the win.
WINNER: Sean Legacy
TIME: 10:50
THOUGHTS: A great match and a showcase for two young and talented guys. It’s a shame that someone had to lose, but them the breaks.
RATING: ****

Post-match, Tony D’Angelo is here again. So much for being arrested, am I right? He attacks both Knight and Legacy. He sends Knight balls first into the ring post, and chokeslams Knight onto the announce table. Ricky is ready to defend himself with his chair lol. Tony gets back into the ring and gives us that blank stare. Ava arrives with the cops, and after Tony stares at Ava, he turns around and willingly gives himself up to be handcuffed. The fans boo for reasons.

COMMERCIALS!

The Progressive Spotlight focuses on Izzi Dame winning the Women’s North American Title. She says that this is why the Culling was formed. They always prevail, and that is just what it is. Nico says that Shawn Spears and himself should focus on going after the NXT Tag Team Titles, but instead of going after DarkState, they will let them fight OTM and pick the bones. Shawn likes where his head is at.

We see Tony D’Angelo being walked out the back and to a cop car. Ava says that he left her no choice. Blake Howard wants comments from Tony, but he is tight lipped. OTM are here and they shove Blake out of the way. They implore DarkState to put them tag team titles on the line next week, but they aren’t ready for this!

Vanity Project are in the back. Jackson Drake hypes up his guys to the ladies on their arms. Mr. Stone is here. He says Jackson got his wish, because next week he is in the ladder match qualifier against Joe Hendry. His theme song plays, and Mr. Stone says you get used to it lol. Hendry pops in the place of the one lady, leaving Ricky Smokes to wonder if he kissed Hendry LMAO!

The temperature keeps rising out here now! SHUCKY DUCKY, QUACK QUACK!

DarkState are in the back. They call OTM delusional, and hanging with Joe Hendry makes them think they are tough? They are going to hunt Tony D’Angelo for costing D his match last week. Their next target is Myles Borne, since he faces Lennox next week with a shot at the ladder match on the line.

Fatal Influence vs. Zaruca vs. WrenQCC

The Personal Concierge for the Elegance Brand is watching from the crowd. The winner of this match gets a shot at their TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles.

It’s a frantic start, with Ruca, Grey, and Henley trying to steal pins from one another. Grey and Sinclair team up on Ruca, but Zaria comes in and grabs Sinclair lol. Zaria on the floor now, she ducks Jacy Jayne’s cheap shot and takes out the other FI members.

Back in the ring, Zaria tags in Ruca, and Sol uses the shoulders of her partner to hit a splash. Zaria favors her shoulder, allowing Reid and Henley to take care of them. They aren’t safe, however, as Sinclair dives with a crossbody to take out Reid and Henley, while Grey takes out Zaria and Sol with a moonsault! Back in the ring, Grey pins Ruca and gets a two. That’ll take us to the break.

However, the nice thing about watching the show on the Netflix/International version of the show means that the commercials/screen crunch don’t happen. It’s fantastic for matches like this! 😉

We’re back “officially” as Zaria chokes Grey from the top rope. Henley runs in, gets kicked away, but storms back and puts Grey on her shoulders. Zaria with a Doomsday Device assist as the fans chant THIS IS AWESOME.

Sinclair, Ruca, and Reid are all in the match now. Wren goes ham and dishes to both Lainey and Sol. Sinclair with a nice spinning back suplex to Reid, as Grey is in. Kendel with a running assisted European Uppercut, but the pin is broken up. Reid takes out Sinclair and hits a sit-down powerbomb to Grey for a two. Henley rolls up Grey, she is launched towards Jayne, but Grey ducks and hits a baseball slide.

Grey applies a cross-arm breaker to Reid, but here comes Ruca with a springboard splash to break the hold up. WOMEN’S WRESTLING chants, as Grey takes Ruca out of the ring and takes out Reid. Ruca is back and she hits a German on Reid and Kendal. Zaria tags herself in, double SPEAR to Reid and Grey! Ruca jumps over Zaria, but she misses her attack and lands on the outside. Zaria starches Reid, but Grey with Shades of Grey to Zaria! The cover, but Jayne pulls her out of the ring.

Sinclair goes to the apron and looks to take out Jayne, but she gets taken out instead. Fatal Influence target Zaria now. Blockbuster from Reid out of the corner, but Ruca saves her partner. Double Sol Snatcher by Ruca to Reid and Henley! Zaria with the pin and the win!
WINNER: Sol Ruca and Zaria
TIME: 12:20
THOUGHTS: Give six awesome women the main event, and they are NOT going to disappoint. All of them got a chance to shine in this match, and there was no wrong choice for the challengers for the Elegance Brand.
RATING: ****

Vic runs down the matches for next week. He mentioned right before Zaria’s pin that he had breaking news about the NXT Tag Team Titles next week, I just don’t know why he didn’t wait until AFTER the match to announce it instead. Zaria and Sol embrace, while WrenQCC looks on dejected, and the Personal Concierge makes the “I got my eyes on you” notion to Sol and Zaria.

And with that, we are done!
