Kenny Omega is the new AEW World Champion, winning the title in a high-stakes match against MJF in the main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite. Wednesday night’s episode was headlined by MJF putting the title on the line against Omega in a match that, if Omega lost, would mean he could never challenge for the championship again.

The 24-minute bout saw the two battle back and forth tooth and nail and coming to the final stretch, MJF attempted to use his Dynamite Diamond Ring. However, Will Ospreay appeared and ripped the ring off of MJF’s hand. Omega considered hitting MJF with the title belt put hesitated, allowing MJF to hit a low blow kick and then the title. Omega kicked out and traded blows with MJF, ultimately hitting three V-Triggers and the One Winged Angel for the victory and title.
