Kevin Knight is the new AEW TNT Champion, and he says he’d love to defend it against his tag team partner in Mike Bailey. As noted, Knight won the vacant title in the Casino Gauntlet Match at Dynasty, a match that also included Bailey.

During the post-show media scrum, Knight reflected on winning the title and said that he would like to defend the championship against Bailey when he can. He said it was a win for them both and spoke about the pressuye of being a singles champion. You can see the highlights below:

On Winning the TNT Championship:

“Well, this being my first singles title ever, whether it’s on the indies, in New Japan, in AEW. So for the fact that it happened on the anniversary of my PPV debut here in AEW, a year later? You know, with my tag team partner in the match, it certainly means a lot for me to be the new face of TNT.

On the Pressure Of Being Champion:

“It’s a lot of pressure, but I think the jet is built for it, you know? This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. It’s so crazy, because me and Speedball are a tag team but we’ve won Trios, we’ve won singles. So I think this is the next step of us fulfilling our destiny and being tag champs too in the future. So I think it’s a great step in the right direction.”

On If Holding a Singles Title Changes the Dynamic Of His Team With Bailey:
“I know what you’re trying to do there. You’re trying to drum up a little bit of a problem between me and Speedball. Me and Speedball have faced off plenty of times in the past, so this is a team win for me and Speedball. I’ve known him before I got here and we’ve had great chemistry. He only wants the best for me, I only want the best for him. And I would love to defend this against my tag team partner if you [Khan] would allow this, if we can set something up. Because we bring the best out of each other.”
