During a recent interview with The Tap Out Tea ahead of last week’s AEW Dynamite, AEW star Kevin Knight discussed his goals and what’s next following his recent run with the TNT Title. He also discussed his new tag team duo with Kyle Fletcher. Below are some highlights:

Kevin Knight on What’s Next for Him After His AEW World Title Run

“You know, the world championship, we don’t like to rush anything. We like to let things happen the way that they happen. Right now, the Jet is looking for, matter of fact, demanding respect from the AEW audience because they seem to be misconstrued as to what the Jet is doing, where my character is going, but now looking for respect and, not only from the crowd, the audience, but my fellow peers, namely me and Kyle Fletcher. ‘Cause we’ve been tagging. He threw us in a Don K threw us in a tag, which we don’t necessarily want to do. But I think Kyle is just lacking a little bit of respect for his peer, for his superior, for his elder, in the name of Kevin Knight. So I think we just need to do a little straightening out. And um once we get this respect R-E-S-P-E-C-T down, I think of course world champion, international champion, tag team champion, whatever is in the way, I’m going to get it.”

On If His Competitive Tension With Kyle Fletcher Is a Problem

“You know, I don’t see too many things as a problem, per se. As you see, as you saw last week, I got the win for us in this tag team as our first match together. So, I think I’ll take the lead. I’ll take the reins going into this match against the Young Bucks and have Kyle, you know, just watch a master at work. And I think we’re both extremely competitive. We’re both extremely ambitious. So we’ll put our differences aside because we see the Young Bucks and where they’re going against Cope and Christian, and you got the new level in there. You got FTR coming back. We got so many great tag teams, but the one that’s coming up right now, if we continue to tag, I feel like we can be better than all of those tag teams. Just off raw potential, just off raw talent. You know, me and Kyle got something special. So, you’ll see that tomorrow night.

During last week’s AEW Dynamite: Rebel Heart show, Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher picked up a huge win over The Young Bucks in a Tables Match. As Fletcher would say, they’re doing pretty good for a “non-tag team.”
