Kevin Owens returned to active competition last night at SummerSlam Night Two and became the #1 Contender to the Undisputed WWE Championship. While appearing on the SummerSlam Post-Show, he had a special message for fellow wrestler Rebel, who as we know is battling ALS. Owens said he was inspired by Rebel’s fight towards the end of his appearance:
“There’s somebody called Tanea Brooks, who’s known to wrestling fans as Rebel. She has not wrestled here, but some things are bigger than wrestling. She’s currently battling ALS, and the way she’s doing it is so incredible. I looked at her and what she was going through, and the way she powered through it, and it was truly inspirational.”
Rebel heard about this and gave Kevin a shout out of his own on social media this morning:
🫶🏼❤️ thank you KO. I am proud of your return and you fighting through it to get there. Never Stop giving your everything because you are right, it can be taken away in a second. https://t.co/kj3t1GVma7

The September 9 edition of AEW Dynamite will be a benefit show for Rebel and the fight against ALS.
