More Details on Kevin Owens and Vince McMahon Smackdown Segment, How Plans Were Slightly Altered

– As previously reported, there was a great deal of speculation regarding Vince McMahon’s segment with Kevin Owens on last week’s edition of Smackdown and McMahon’s blood. The belief reported by The Wrestler Observer was that McMahon bladed before the segment and later covered it up with nu-skin. After the staged headbutt, the wound would’ve re-opened, causing McMahon’s wound to reopen and bleed again. During a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio (via WrestlingInc.com), Meltzer discussed more details regarding the segment.
Meltzer claimed that it was an issue of McMahon blading before the segment and covering up the cut. However, Vince McMahon allegedly covered it using Vaseline rather than nu-skin. Additionally, Meltzer said that the original plan for the segment was to have Stephanie McMahon come to the ring with a towel, and Vince would’ve bled all over it. That’s why Stephanie came out during the segment.
Meltzer added his thoughts on the angle, stating that it was reckless and claimed that McMahon’s memory “is really bad now,” hoping that Vince McMahon doesn’t pay for the punishment he’s put on his body sooner or later in life.
