Kyle Fletcher’s homecoming proved to be a successful one, as the Australian retained his AEW TNT Championship against Mark Briscoe in a brutal Ladder Match at Grand Slam: Australia.

As expected, the match included plenty of violent spots, such as Kyle Fletcher launching Mark Briscoe face-first into a ladder stationed in a corner, powerbombing him through a ladder, or nailing a Moonsault off the ladder.

At one point, Briscoe climbed the ladder and got his hand on the championship. However, before he could retrieve it, Fletcher delivered a twisting Brainbuster to the former TNT Champion from the top of the ladder

As Kyle Fletcher started to climb again, Briscoe set up another ladder, leading to both men fighting on the top of their respective ladders. The Protostar eventually pushed Briscoe’s leader and retrieved the belt to notch up his maiden title defense in his second reign and avenge the defeat he suffered at the hands of Briscoe at Full Gear 2025.
