Drew McIntyre is believed to be heading back to WWE soon, and creative has reportedly discussed which brand he’ll return on. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that according to sources, the creative team has discussed ideas for McIntyre’s return that would see him come back as part of the Raw brand.
McIntyre was previously on Smackdown before his post-WrestleMania hiatus. The source noted that the feeling within creative is that Raw could use a star at McIntyre’s level more than Smackdown could. The report also notes that there was a plan to bring McIntyre back in late August with creative in place, bu that a change of direction pushed off those plans.
McIntyre has been away filming a number of film and TV products including roles in Highlander and The Last Druid with Russell Crowe, as well as the first microdrama as part of WWE’s deal with ReelShort.
The specific date of when McIntyre will return to WWE is not currently known. He lost an Unsanctioned Match to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42.
