WWE’s live-action microdrama with ReelShort has finished filming in Los Angeles, according to PWInsiderElite.com (via WrestlingInc). The project’s wrap-up could allow Drew McIntyre and Joe Hendry to return to regular appearances on WWE television.

WWE announced its partnership with ReelShort in July for an original series featuring superstars. The project uses short episodes designed for vertical viewing on smartphones. McIntyre, Hendry, and Jacob Fatu were among the talents involved in the production alongside prominent microdrama actors Marc Herrmann and Chase Mattson. WWE has not announced a release date for the series, but it is expected to premiere in early fall.

PWInsiderElite reports that McIntyre and Hendry could return to TV now that filming has concluded. Fatu has already returned to WWE television and has been appearing regularly on Raw with The Bloodline.

Drew McIntyre has not wrestled since losing to Fatu in an unsanctioned match at WrestleMania 42. He has also been involved in other acting projects during his absence.

Hendry wrestled once in August while working on the ReelShort production. His most recent match took place on Raw after SummerSlam, where he lost to Bron Breakker.
