Latest On WWE Crown Jewel, WrestleMania Plans For Saudi Arabia, The Sphere Rumors

WWE Crown Jewel is still on course for Saudi Arabia, and a new report has some details on the company’s current plans for it and WrestleMania. As has been extensively reported, the company is still planning to host the November 7th PLE in the country despite level three security alerts by the US State Department due to the war in Iran. It was noted today that setup is underway for the event.

According to Fightful Select, sources working on site in Saudi Arabia say that they’ve been there working for weeks, and expect the event go on as it’s been planned. Ariel Helwani noted on his show that members of the Power Slap production crew will fly into Bahrain and then take a bus to Riyadh for their show, which takes place the night before Crown Jewel.

The outlet cites sources onsite as saying that the situation is “nowhere near as bad as the media makes it out to be.” However, WWE talent and staff have expressed that they are “reasonably concerned.”

The report goes on to reference WrestleMania, specifically offering context after Eric Bischoff said on a podcast that he would be “shocked” if WWE’s backup plan for WrestleMania was not The Sphere in Las Vegas. As has been noted, there have been rumors that Las Vegas is the backup plan, though those have not been confirmed. It was also reported by POST Wrestling that WrestleMania 43 was internally set for April 10th and 11th, 2027.

WWE has not yet announced the dates for WrestleMania 43 publicly, and they have been previously said to be waiting for Crown Jewel week to make the announcement. Fightful Select notes that they’re not sure if that remains the plan considering potential issues in Saudi Arabia. They have had no word that The Sphere is the backup plan.

In terms of The Sphere’s availability, John Mayer will be occupying the venue from April 8th through the 18th of 2027 and at the end of the month. Oprah Winfrey is scheduled for The Sphere from April 2nd through the 4th. The Sphere may have an open slot on April 24th to the 25th, but again there’s nothing indicating that it will happen.
