Leon Slater Names Teaming With Hardys As Biggest ‘Pinch Me’ Moment Of His Career So Far

Leon Slater has accomplished a lot in his career already and he says teaming with the Hardys is his biggest “pinch me” moment. The former TNA X-Division Champion teamed with the Hardys to battle The System on the February 6th, 2025 episode of Impact.

Slater has never been shy about talking about how much he looked up to The Hardys growing up, and he spoke about their team-up in an interview with Adrian Hernandez on Unlikely. You can see the highlights below:

On His Biggest ‘I Did That’ Moment Thus Far:

“The first thing that came to mind when you asked is my first-ever time teaming with Matt and Jeff Hardy when we did that initial six-man in San Antonio, funnily enough. And I — because you always dream, and you always hear about your heroes becoming your peers, becoming your friends, right? And I don’t know about you, but sometimes it’s difficult to picture yourself being in that position.

“So when I found out that it was going to be that combination of me, Matt, and Jeff versus The System at the time, it was absolutely mind-blowing. Because ever since I was in TNA and Matt and Jeff came back, I was like, ‘It has to happen, it has to happen, it has to happen.’ And I’m a big manifestor. And I was glad that all of that manifesting and speaking things into existence paid off.

On Being in the Locker Room With Them:

“Still to this day, I have to pinch myself when they walk in the locker room. Like on one side of me, it goes, ‘Oh yeah, it’s Uncle Matt and Uncle Jeff.’ And then I’ll turn around and look back and I’ll go, ‘Hold up. Like, that’s Matt and Jeff Hardy.’ I grew up, these guys were 1A and 1B for me, you know what I mean? So, that is probably the biggest like, ‘I can’t believe I did that,’ ‘pinch me’ moment of my career so far, for sure.”
