“This year has been a career highlight for me. This year is 11 years in the making of hard work, dedication, continuing the work even if it feels like the goal was unattainable. But here I am exactly where I want to be at the top of the mountain in WWE as the greatest women’s world champion of all time going into SummerSlam, the biggest party this summer. going to defend and retain my championship.”

On Wanting To Keep Her SummerSlam Streak Going

“I’d love to keep my streak going. Like you said, I am 2 and 0 at SummerSlam. I have a great track record, so I’d love to keep that going. But most importantly, I want to retain my women’s world championship. I am over 100 days as champion, and I want to make it a thousand days as champion. So, retaining this weekend and defeating Iyo Sky, one of the best in the world, reminding everyone just exactly who I am in that ring. I’m very much looking forward to that opportunity.

On What It Means To Be Champion

“Being the champion means you are the best of the best. Whether you’ve earned that title, whether you cheated to get it, it doesn’t matter. You are the champion. You are the representative. You are the martyr of the division, and that is not something that I take lightly. I love being champion. I love having that responsibility on my shoulder. I love doing appearances. I love all the responsibility that being a champion entails. But mostly I love bragging about it.”

Liv Morgan on Dealing With Danhausen’s Curse

“You know, I don’t know, but I’m just going to have to have faith and believe in myself that it’s gone. And lots of positive self-talk. I don’t know the deal with these Danhausen curses. I don’t know how long they last. I don’t know. I don’t know the maximum power of it all, but she did defeat me, but only because I was cursed. Other than that, EOS Sky has never defeated me on one-on-one singles competition. And so I’m just going to go into this weekend with a positive mindset. I don’t feel cursed. I feel great. I know she is not going to be easy to beat. Like I said earlier, she is one of the best in the world. She is so unpredictable in that ring. Her skill set is unmatched, but I know what I’m willing to do to retain my championship, and that is quite literally anything.”

Liv Morgan defends her title against Iyo Sky later tonight at WWE SummerSlam 2026: Night 1. The premium live event is being held at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
