Lucha Underground Posts New Cryptic Teaser Video
Lucha Underground is teasing the arrival of something coming soon by way of a teaser video posted to social media. The defunct promotion’s Twitter account posted a new video, the first post made to the account since November of 2019.
The video, which you can see below, zooms in on a luchador mask on the ground surrounded by fog. As we get closer, a person’s head is inside the mask. It then cuts out and the word “Mas?” appears in red against black.
It’s not yet clear what the teaser is four. PWInsider speculates that the teaser could be for the promotion coming to a streaming service, though they make clear that’s strictly speculation.
Lucha Underground was launched back in 2014 and ran for four seasons as a TV series on El Rey. Developed by Mark Burnett and Robert Rodriguez, the series featured stars like Rey Mysterio, Penta, Rey Fenix, Angelico, Chelsea Green, Thunder Rosa, Dr. Wagner Jr., Melina, Swerve Strickland, and many others. The final episode aired in November of 2018.
It was reported in 2021 that there were discussions about bringing the promotion back, but those obviously never came to pass.
