Malakai Black has an opponent set for his first post-WWE match next month in fellow WWE alumnus Dijak. PROGRESS Wrestling announced on Monday that the former Aleister Black will be facing Dijak at their PROGRESS Odyssey Tour show on September 4th in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The announcement reads:
“Edinburgh Match Announcement
Malakai Black vs Dijak
First Time Ever Match In Europe
Malakai Black has his first opponent and it’s a familiar face…
Two of the biggest names in professional wrestling worldwide collide in Edinburgh! Dijak the 6 foot 7 behemoth from Massachusetts, USA, takes on the incredible martial artist from Amsterdam, Netherlands – Malakai Black.
Expect one of the best matches you’ll ever see in person, as this will be hard hitting, high flying and innovative – PROGRESS Wrestling is coming to Edinburgh with a banger”
Black released a new vignette earlier this month following his arrival on the free agent market. He was among WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 releases.
It was reported yesterday that Black had contact with MLW, where Dijak is a former MLW Tag Team Champion, a couple of weeks after his exit from WWE. Those talks didn’t lead to anything though, and have yet to be followed up on.
