Mandy Rose On Her Friendship With Elayna Black: ‘She Really Is Like My Little Sister’
Mandy Rose and Elayna Black have stayed close following their work together in WWE, and Rose recently weighed in on their relationship. The two were rivals during their time in WWE NXT, with Black (then Cora Jade) feuding with Rose over the NXT Women’s Championship. Both of the two are out of WWE now, with Black in TNA and Rose out of the wrestling industry for now.
Rose spoke on TMZ Inside the Ring about working with Black since they both left the company, specifically for their subscription-based fan services on Only Fans. Rose noted that she helped Black get set up and praised the TNA star for being on top of things from the get-go. You can see the highlights below:
On Her Friendship With Black:
“Yeah, we’re really close. And honestly, I look at her like, I’m like a big sister to her, because I just feel like she always did look up to me. And I think – listen, she’s smart and she knows what she’s got to do. And she listens, and she takes control and I love that about her. And she doesn’t care what people think. You know, at the end of the day, a lot of this has so much to do with [the fact that] people are just embarrassed. But why are you embarrassed with a woman trying to find what she needs to do to help monetize the audience that she built, right? Like, that’s what you want to do. We all built our own audience. There there’s a reason why we all have a following. Yes, we were put on a platform that helped us be in front of this amazing audience, but not everyone gets over like others do, right? So, I feel like you need to kind of work with what you have. and she’s a perfect example of someone who has done that.”
On Helping Black After She Was Released:
“I got her with my management team right away, like she wasted no time. She was just on it from the get-go when she had a feeling that she was getting fired. She called me prior, a week before, and she was right. And I literally had the phone call set up for her. I called my team. I said, ‘Listen, this is who she is, blah blah blah.’ And they connected right afterwards, and the rest is history.
“So she’s done an incredible job. And I think that’s awesome that she looks up to me like that, because we also had a lot of fun working with each other too… She really is like my little sister.”
