Mercedes Mone Says It’s Her Dream To Wrestle Aja Kong

Ahead of a huge title match at tonight’s AEW WrestleDream 2026, Mercedes Mone spoke about her dream of wrestling the legendary Aja Kong. She wrote earlier today via social media, “My wrestle dream is to wrestle @ajakonguraken.”

The 56-year-old Aja Kong is still active in the ring. She’s also competed in AEW in the past, including the first-ever AEW event, Double or Nothing, in May 2019. So, it’s theoretically possible that Mone’s personal “wrestle dream” could one day come true.

Well, Mercedes Mone won’t be facing Aja Kong tonight. Tonight, defends her AEW Women’s World Championship against former champion Thekla at AEW WrestleDream 2026. Tonight’s show is being held at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.

AEW WrestleDream, featuring Mone vs. Thekla for the title, will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
