MJF Teases His Plans for His PWI 500 Cover for When He Returns

As previously reported, AEW star and former World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) topped the PWI 500 this year, rising 30 spots from last year. During an interview with Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Lyric Swinton, MJF spoke about his plans for once he returns.

During the conversation, Swinton asked MJF what he plans to do with his new PWI 500 cover. MJF stated, “I don’t want to give anything away, but just know whenever I come back, because I’m waiting for the right time, the right moment. Whenever I come back, just know the PWI cover is not going to be far behind. Okay? I’m gonna be shoving this down everybody’s throats for as long as humanly possible. As long as humanly possible.”

The former three-time AEW World Champion last competed at AEW All In: London 2026 last month, where he took part in the Casino Gauntlet Match for a shot at the AEW World Title. Andrade El Idolo was victorious in the bout.

Besides topping this year’s PWI 500, MJF is also set to appear in two movies later this year. He appears opposite Ashley Benson, Ron Perlman, and Justin Long in the new movie Stranglehold, due out next month. He also appears in Violent Night 2, which hits theaters on December 4.
