There are more details regarding the alleged pay cut from WWE to The New Level (formerly The New Day), leading to their exits from the promotion. As previously reported, there have been some rumors regarding The New Level (formerly The New Day) and the pay cut WWE offered them on their contracts before they decided to leave, later signing with AEW.
During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Kofi said the pay cut that WWE offered the tag team was more than 50%. Later, wrestling podcaster Conrad Thompson claimed that he had heard that WWE’s proposed pay cut to the team was 75% less than the original deals they had signed last year.
F4WOnline.com’s Bryan Alvarez reported additional details regarding New Level’s pay cut in a new update. According to Alvarez, the pay cut WWE offered was “slightly higher than 50%.”
Alvarez noted, “New Day’s requested pay cut was not 75 percent. It was exactly what they said it was, which was just slightly more than 50 percent.”
During the team’s discussion with Ariel Helwani, Kofi stated on the restructured offer, “I don’t know exactly what’s out there. I will say, it was more than 50 percent, which a lot of people don’t know.”
Regardless, The New Level have since parted ways with WWE and joined AEW. They made their debuts last Sunday at AEW All In: London 2026, joining Swerve Strickland and winning the AEW World Trios Titles.
