A new report has some additional details on Eric Young making his return to WWE as a producer in NXT. It was reported on Saturday that Young returned to WWE in July as a producer on the developmental brand.
According to Fightful Select, Young and Triple H have maintained a good relationship for a long time and that the WWE CCO made it clear to Young that he could return to WWE whenever he wanted to come back.
Young exited TNA on the first of July after the promotion granted his request to be released from his contract. He was with WWE from 2016 to 2020, leading the stable SAnitY, and was let go as part of the April 2020 pandemic-related budget cuts. He returned in 2023 but never appeared on TV, and requested his release. He later cited his not wanting to work for Vince McMahon, who had returned to the company after his “retirement” due to the sexual misconduct allegations against him, as his reason for asking for his release.
