Former TNA World Champion Eric Young is reportedly back in WWE in a new role.
In the latest PWInsider Q&A session, Mike Johnson was asked about the whereabouts of the two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Johnson said that Eric returned to WWE in July in the role of a backstage producer in NXT.
“That was the assumption for a lot of people when Young asked for and received his TNA release, and it was correct. He started working for WWE as a Producer for NXT in July. I don’t know if he will wrestle,” Johnson wrote.
As noted, Young departed TNA Wrestling on July 1, 2026, after the promotion accepted his request for a release. Eric had a four-year stint with WWE in the late 2010s. He re-signed with the promotion in 2022, though the 46-year-old never appeared on television and ultimately left, later citing personal, professional, and moral reasons behind his decision.
In October 2024, during an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, he opened up about his second return to the company. Check his comments HERE.
