Mr. Iguana Says ‘Everything Is Possible’ Following WWE’s Acquisition Of AAA

Mr. Iguana says WWE’s partnership with AAA has changed the conversation around the promotion in a very short time. After seeing how much has happened over the past year, he believes the crossover between the two companies is only going to get bigger.

WWE acquired AAA in April 2025. Since then, both promotions’ talents have regularly appeared on each other’s shows. The relationship between WWE and AEW has become increasingly visible over the past several months, with Worlds Collide serving as one of its biggest showcases.

Speaking with Ringside Collectibles at San Diego Comic-Con, the AAA star looked back on WWE’s acquisition of the promotion and everything that’s followed since. With Worlds Collide becoming a reality, he believes the partnership has already exceeded expectations.

“It’s very exciting because a year ago you didn’t know what was going to happen, right? Then it happened, Worlds Collide happened, all these partnerships, and then every month it was a surprise, surprise, surprise. So now I learned that… Everything is possible and the crossovers don’t end.”

Mr. Iguana pointed to the popularity of his character, La Yesca, saying it’s been special to watch something that started in Mexican wrestling make its way onto toys and other merchandise. To him, that’s another sign that the audience for AAA is expanding.

“Never seen a her (La Yesca) example. I never imagined her with a suit and all the face paint and all that stuff. So it’s good to see your craft made into that and also Mexican craft. Something of our country now is making a transcendence to all the people. To see Lucha Libre, to see now wrestling like Lucha Libre, the style of Mexico, it’s now in toys.”

Mr. Iguana went viral among WWE fans when he fought in a tag team match at Worlds Collide 2025. Since then, he has also appeared multiple times in WWE amid much fanfare.
