More Details on Reason Behind Recent WWE NXT Talent Cuts

WWE roster cuts since WrestleMania 42 haven’t been restricted to just RAW or SmackDown, as plenty of NXT talent have also been let go by the company.
So far, Tyra Mae Steele, Andre Chase, Dante Chen, Tyson DuPont, Tyriek Igwe, Malik Blade, Luca Crusifino, Chris Island, Sirena Linton, Trill London, and Carlee Bright have been released from their contracts.
While main roster releases are largely down to the annual budget cuts, that doesn’t seem to be the case with NXT. According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, the NXT releases have more to do with the company not being satisfied with the progress made by a talent within a specific timeframe.
In a post to his subscribers on X, Alvarez wrote, “The NXT cuts are said to be more talent evaluation cuts as opposed to anything budgetary. This happens pretty frequently.”
Alvarez’s report is in line with what BodySlam+ reported late last month. You can check out that report RIGHT HERE. Meanwhile, last week, Dave Meltzer claimed on Wrestling Observer Radio (WOR) that more NXT wrestlers are set to be released in the coming days.
