There were a number of NXT exits in the midst of WWE’s roster cuts on Friday, and a new report has some details on the reason behind the cuts. As reported, WWE cut a number of people from both the main roster and NXT on Friday. The most prominent NXT releases included Tyson Dupont, Tyriek Igwe, Tyra Mae Steele, Malik Blade, and Luca Crusifino. All of those talents had appeared on NXT and/or EVOLVE.
Bodyslam+ has confirmed a news report by Fightful Select that the NXT cuts were due to the fact that a number of new talent have been signed but not yet announced by the company. Another source said that many of the releases happened due to the fact that the talent had not shown the progress in training that WWE was looking for in a specific time frame.
In addition to the above names, Chris Island, Sirena Linton, and Trill London were let go. It was reported this morning that more NXT cuts are expected.
