Rey Fenix is having the time of his life defending the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship across countries, so much so that he has declared himself the “MexaKing” following his latest defense.
Rey Fenix captured the World Cruiserweight Championship from Laredo Kid at AAA Noche de Los Grandes Week One on May 30. Following that, he vowed to defend his gold all over the world.
The masked wrestler has lived up to his words so far, as he has notched up four successful defenses across three different countries (Mexico, USA, and UK) in 35 days. Fenix was in action on last night’s SmackDown, defending the title against AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo del Vikingo.
Vikingo offered a stiff challenge but was ultimately undone by Fenix’s Mexican Muscle Buster. Following that, the Cruiserweight Champion commented on his ongoing reign on social media. He wrote:
“35 days, 4 title defenses in 3 different countries. The best cruiserweight wrestler in the universe, #MexaKing.”
