Rhea Ripley is currently dealing with an injury, and a new report says that it has caused several creative changes within WWE. As previously reported, WWE announced on last week’s Smackdown that Ripley is currently dealing with a knee injury. The injury was sustained during Ripley’s match with Jade Cargill at WWE Clash in Italy.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, sources have indicated that there was “significant shuffling” of creative due to the injury. The adjustments affected not only plans for Ripley, but also several other women on the WWE Smackdown roster. It was noted that several plans have been altered in case Ripley ends up being on the shelf for a lengthier period of time.
As noted, WWE removed Ripley from the poster for WWE Night of Champions and put WWE Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton in her place. Ripley is the current WWE Women’s Champion, having won the title from Cargill on night two of WrestleMania 42 in April.
There is currently no word on the nor the severity of Ripley’s injury, nor how long she may be out of action. On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Rhea Ripley for a quick and full recovery.
