Sami Zayn Posts Video of Him Taking Title Belt to the Park

Unlike some other major stars, Sami Zayn is fiercely protective of his personal life, even though his family has been glimpsed occasionally on TV. In a video he posted today, it looked like we might be getting a rare glimpse of some father-son time at the park. As it turns out, though, there’s a punchline.
Zayn begins the video pushing a boy who looks like his son on the swings. The Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t it Be Nice” plays as Zayn appears to get bored of the boy, and moves over to the next swing, in which his WWE Undisputed Championship belt is “seated” like a kid. He then proceeds to push the belt on the swings, acting like it’s his preferred child. The video is simply captioned: “LIFE IS GOOD”

The vignette contributes to the sense that Zayn’s new “good guy” gimmick is meant to be just a wee bit delusional. In his haste to be “good” to his belt, he favors it over his real son.
Zayn is set to defend his new “favorite child” against Cody Rhodes on Monday Night Raw, which should reveal whether or not his win was simply to please the Saudi Arabian audience at Night of Champions, or part of a longer-term strategy.
