Sol Ruca has reflected on her emotions after winning the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at Clash in Italy.
Ruca pulled off a major heist at WWE’s first PLE in Italy on Sunday when she dethroned Becky Lynch as the Women’s IC Champion. It’s been a whirlwind last month for Sol. The former Women’s NXT North American Champion made her main roster debut on RAW after WrestleMania 42 and has already won her first championship.
At the Clash in Italy review show on WWE’s YouTube channel, Sol hailed her win over Becky in Italy as the defining moment of her career. She recalled being emotional immediately after her victory and admitted that she was humbled by the immense positive reaction from the Italian fans. Here’s what Sol Ruca said:
“I am in a mess, in a good way, though. I’m just like an emotional mess, physically a mess in the best way possible. You know, I had a moment as soon as the bell rang, as soon as I hit my finish on Becky, where I just kind of got a little bit emotional, was a bit just like shocked, and just like, ‘Oh my God,’ like, ‘I did it; this is my defining moment.’ This is the start of my next chapter in a sense, and yeah, just the overwhelming love and acceptance from the fans tonight was absolutely incredible.
“Especially being so far away from home, knowing that these people know who I am, care about me, care about my story, and care about what I do. It’s just absolutely incredible. I still feel like I have a lot more things to just, like, decompress and feel out. But it has been like, go, go, go ever since I got back from the curtain. But yeah, I’m feeling good.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Sol Ruca hailed Becky Lynch as one of the greatest of all time, adding that she felt honored to share the ring with the multi-time world champion in her first main roster feud. Check her comments HERE. Listen to her comments below:
